As we enter the last ten days, it also signifies that we are nearing the end of Ramadhan. Twenty days of Ramadhan have already passed, and we now enter the final asharah of this blessed month. Just as the first twenty days have passed swiftly, the remaining days will also pass quickly. Therefore, it is essential that we make the most of the time we have left in this blessed month, as we do not know whether we will live to witness the next Ramadhan.
If our Ramadhan has been good, then we should be grateful and increase our efforts even more. And if it has not been good, we should not feel hopeless. Instead, we should turn to istighfaar and begin striving now, while we still have the chance.
Hadhrat A’isha (radiyallahu anha) reports that when the last ten nights of Ramadhan would begin, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ would stay awake at night (for prayer and devotion), awaken his family, and prepare himself to be more diligent in worship.
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ would exert himself in the last ten days, especially during the nights, to ensure that he would not miss Laylat al-Qadr.
There are many acts of Ibaadat we can carry out during these blessed nights; one of the easiest is to spend in the path of Allah Ta‘ala.
Shaykhul-Hadith Hadhrat Mawlana Muhammad Saleem Dhorat Sahib Hafizahullah mentions ” During every night of Ramadhan spend at least £1 in the path of Allah ; if it happens to be Laylatul-Qadr, you will receive the reward of spending£1 every day for more than 83 years!”
May Allah allow us to make the most of the time we have left in Ramadhan and enable us to witness Laylat al-Qadr.
